The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Straight Alliance Fund was pleased to host Susan Stryker, Director of the University of Arizona Institute for LGBT Studies, along with Institute staff members and volunteers, to discuss the Arizona Queer Archives (AQA) – an Institute project spearheaded by Tucson activist, filmmaker, and archival studies Doctoral Candidate, Jamie A. Lee.

The event was Tuesday, September 30th at 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at McClelland Park, 650 N. Park Ave., at the University of Arizona.

Launched at a public meeting in October 2013, the AQA now houses materials from LGBTQ faculty members at UA, video oral histories from community members, the personal papers of LGBTQ activists and residents in Southern Arizona, documentation of the Southwest Feminists Reunite group, and other vital evidence of LGBTQ life in Tucson and the surrounding area.
